Configure Your Subscription
Use the Subscription tab to edit default workspace settings to include values that are meaningful in your development environment. You can also enable or disable features, manage users, create more administrators, change passwords for existing users, and set user permissions.
Configuring your subscription includes the following:
Manage your subscription
Use the Subscription tab to view and edit options for your Rally subscription. Edit and enable security options that apply to the entire subscription from this tab.
The Subscription Detail page lists relevant information regarding your subscription (as read-only) such as:
- The products which are associated to your Rally subscription
- The state of Web Services for your subscription (enabled or not enabled)
- The maximum number of shared tabs or pages permitted (per subscription, per workspace )
- The maximum number of private tabs or pages permitted (per subscription, per workspace, per user)
To manage your subscription, click the Actions button. The Edit Subscription option allows the subscription administrator to:
- Enable workspace administrators' permissions to add users for their workspace.
- Administer authentication methods.
- Apply page settings.
- Change password policies applied to all users accessing the subscription using the Rally password authentication method.
- Deselect the Email Functionality check box to disable features that rely upon email, such as notification emails, automatic password changing, and welcome emails for new users.
The sidebar located on the left of the page displays all revisions related to the current subscription. Click the Revision link to see a summary view of all revisions.
You may further secure your subscription by implementing a password expiration policy. Enter the number of days until the user password expires. When the day limit has been reached, the user is prompted at login to enter a new password.
The new password policies are applied to any new user or to any existing user when their password is changed.
However, you can force all users to update their passwords and adhere to the new policies applied by enabling the Password Expiration policy and setting the Number of Days before expiration to 1. This will force all passwords to expire the following day, forcing all users to update their password and adhere to the new policies in place. Remember on the following day to reset the Number of Days before expiration to a desired length other than one day.
Each user receives a notification email each day for seven days prior to the expiration. This allows password updates prior to expiration and ensures that all integrations and Web Services API connections remain uninterrupted.
When you have completed your edits, click the Save & Close button.
Export subscription data
You can export your entire repository data to an XML format. Contact Support, and they will assist you in exporting your subscription data to XML. When you request the export, our technical support engineers export your data and send you an email once the export is completed. The email contains a password-protected .zip file. Rally Support will then call you and provide the password.
